I will be the first to admit that I am a hopeless romantic. That’s right; I own it! This means that whenever any occasion that remotely has to do with love arises, I jump up to bat. I recently had the honor of hosting a Bridal Shower, and let me tell you…it was SO MUCH FUN!
The best part about bridal showers is that you get to gather around with your favorite people and celebrate love. That and the games of course! For this shower, I included a game that I seriously think should be a non-negotiable when it comes to party planning…because it’s the best.
I am talking about the Pass the Prize Bridal Shower game of course! This game is super simple, gets everyone involved, and you are guaranteed an awesome prize at the end of it. Interested? Of course, you are! I explain everything you need to know below, so jump in.
What Is the Pass the Prize Bridal Shower Game?
The pass the prize bridal shower game is essentially a game in which you pass around a present for an expected amount of time that is measured in a few different ways(depending on what you like, typically, you will read a funny poem). At the end of the allotted time, the person who is holding the present is the winner!
It’s super simple, which is why it’s one of my favorites. Sometimes it can be really hard to get people up and mingling, especially when the game you are playing has a lot of complex rules. This game takes away all stress; it’s just pure fun!
The adrenaline hits as soon as you have the present in hand. The whole room will be filled with laughter, screams, and a good time! So, with all of this said, you may be wondering…but how exactly do you play?
How To Play the Pass the Prize Bridal Shower Game?
So to start, you will need a sheet with a themed poem written on it. I have given you some options below. Those are my top three, so look through them and see which one you like. After you have this in hand, you can read the rules out loud. There aren’t many; you simply have to keep passing every time the poem says to. The last person standing with the prize gets to keep it.
The prize starts out in the bride-to-be’s hands, and then the poem is read aloud. You listen to the prompts and pass them to whoever is described. By the end, you will know your winner!
See? I told you it was simple. It really doesn’t get much simpler than this. Check out the printable sheets below! There are more out there, but these were my favorite.
Luckily, these are all very affordable. I know how expensive the wedding season can be. There are just so many different parties to throw…it’s good to save some pennies when you can. The ideas below are super cute and very classy. I think these will work perfectly for a bridal shower. The best part is that you don’t have to come up with the poem yourself!

How much do you spend on bridal shower prizes?
This is going to be up to the person paying for the bridal shower. If you already have your hands full with the wedding, don’t feel bad if you just get little gifts. After all, gifts aren’t the reason all of your friends have gathered together for the shower, you are! So even if you make a quick trip to the dollar store, it doesn’t matter.
But if you have a little bit of the budget for it, I would recommend putting together a little bundle prize for this game. Since this one is very focused on the prize, it should be better than the others.
I have created a little list of some things that would make great pass the prize bridal shower game winnings. Check them out and see which ones you think would make the best gifts for the soon-to-be winner! Oh, and you are going to want to put it in a cute little package or bag that is easy to pass around.
If you end up going with a large gift, have everyone pass around something as a placeholder, like a flower or a little bride-themed prop.
