One of my personal favorite past times as a teenager is getting all my friends together, usually it was at my house, having a bunch of snacks and playing board games all night! We all laughed and created some of the best memories together. One of my biggest hopes is that my kids one day do the same.

I will totally bribe them with the best treats to make sure it happens! 😉 These totally cool board games for teenagers are perfect for their next game night.

Totally Cool Board Games for Teenagers

LRC (Left, Right, Center) Game: Left, Center Right is a fast-paced dice game that includes 3 dice, 24 playing chips and a list of instructions. Players compete by rolling the dice, passing their chips and aiming to take home the center pot full of chips

The Voting Game: similar to “Who’s Most Likely To.” Players take turns reading questions while the other players vote on who that question applies to best.

Code Names: Both teams then compete to see who can guess all of their agents with one-word clues to get multiple words on the board.

Monopoly Speed: Monopoly is a timeless game that will keep players busy for a couple of hours on end. The hard part? Sometimes it takes a bit too long. Not anymore! You can finish Monopoly Speed in just 10 minutes without forfeiting any of the excitement.

Fun Board Games

Splendor: Splendor‘s set up is easy enough, collect gems and buy enough cards to get 15 points to win the game. But this is one of those situations where simple and easy are NOT the same. You’re working with two currencies simultaneously and your opponent can pretty easily guess what you’re trying to do. A true game of strategy where it can really pay off to sabotage each other.

Suspend: We got Suspend a few years ago and it was another favorite family game that EVERYONE can play.

Strategy Board Games for Teenagers

Catan: This is my all-time favorite game! Totally one of the best board games of teenagers! This popular civilization-building board game of harvesting and trading resources definitely takes some time to get used to — but once it clicks, you won’t want to stop playing!

Pandemic Board Game: This thrilling board game is all about saving humanity.

Ticket to Ride: While it takes some time to get the hang of the rules, you’ll be a pro in no time!

Board Games for Teenagers

Loot: This pirate-themed game is quick to learn and fun for teens!

Clue: Become a detective with Clue and travel from room to be the first one to uncover the murder mystery. I’m a sucker for this classic board game!

HIVE: A bug-themed strategy game that sounds very much like a light game of chess, your objective in Hive is to surround your opponent’s queen bee, while keeping yours from being surrounded.

Game Night Favorites

Scramble Twister Game: This game combines two fan favorites in one. The classic fun of Twister and the pensive challenge of Scrabble will get everyone moving in no time. Spell words on a giant mat filled with letters and watch your friends get tied up — literally!

Party Bowl: Party Bowl is bound to become an instant hit in your household. In this game, players split into two teams, come up with words about themselves based on prompted cards, then toss them in the Party Bowl. Next, each team tries to guess the person behind the cards.

Taboo & Speak Out Mashup: You won’t be able to keep a straight face when playing this game. Prepare to laugh while watching your friends and family struggle with tongue-tying challenges.

Dominion: Now I have never personally played this game but I have friends that regularly play this game and love it!

Swipe Out: This is a highly addictive and highly frustrating game but it’s great for testing eye and hand coordination! The aim of the game is to collect five Swipe Out Cards to win the game! It does take a little getting used to for younger children and it is a bit noisy.

5 Second Rule: If you’re looking for a great family board game that everyone will enjoy – The five Second Rule is it! Often the best games are simple games and this game couldn’t be easier to play. All you have to do is name 3 things from a chosen card in 5 seconds. That’s it.

More Games Teenagers Will Love

Carcassonne: In Carcassonne, each of you will take turns drawing and laying tiles like a puzzle, trying to complete cities, roads and other features in an area modeled after the South of France. You earn different amounts of points for each of the features you claim and complete.

Split Decision: This game is our most recent find and it’s so much fun! You are given a choice between topics and pick which is correct. It sounds simple, but it really gets you thinking. This is great for trivia lovers.

Cover Your Assets: You literally Cover Your Assets so others can’t steal them from you. This game is fast-paced, competitive, and a little addictive.

Blokus: Stake your claim and protect your territory by fitting as many of your pieces on the board as possible while strategically blocking your opponents! This is a fun casual board game for couples to play on a nice relaxing evening at home!

Scrabble: It’s a classic for a reason. Scrabble is smart, strategic, competitive and gives you a chance to argue playfully about whether ‘Za is a word (hint: it is).

Qwirkle: This is such a fun game! Made up of a ton of square tiles, each showing a shape in different colors. It’s sort of like a mix between Rummy-O and Scrabble (minus the words). You create lines of shapes- only one of each shape or color is allowed per line, and each player builds the board as the pieces are laid down.
