Two-Player Board Games for Couples
Carcassonne: This one is my personal favorite for date night these days. In Carcassonne, each of you will take turns drawing and laying tiles like a puzzle, trying to complete cities, roads and other features in an area modeled after the South of France. You earn different amounts of points for each of the features you claim and complete.
Ticket to Ride: In Ticket to Ride, you and your partner are simultaneously trying to connect specific cities on the board with train routes you place piece-by-piece. Things can get dicey when, since you don’t know what routes your opponent is trying to finish, you block each other’s progress.
HIVE: A bug-themed strategy game that sounds very much like a light game of chess, your objective in Hive is to surround your opponent’s queen bee, while keeping yours from being surrounded.
Pandemic: Both of you are specialists trying to cure the world of four different plagues by traveling through cities on the board and treating disease.
Guillotine: This card game where you and your date will each be executioners vying for public opinion by executing the least popular nobles. You take turns changing the order of the line (a row of cards) and executing whoever is at the front.
Super Fun Board Games for Two
Table Topics: If you’re always fishing for interesting topics to discuss with your partner or you’re just looking for an exciting game for a date night at home, Table Topics is your best bet.
Our Moments: Whether it’s the first date or you’ve been together for years, use this card game to interact with your partner and get closer than ever. It will get you out of your comfort zone and remind you why you are together in the first place.
Jenga: If you’re looking for a game experience that combines skill, suspense, laughter, and maybe a little luck, get the Classic Jenga game!
WhatchamaDRAWit: Think Pictionary, but with a hilarious twist. You’ll be racing to see who can draw each object the quickest and whoever has the most cards at the end of the game wins!
Marital Bliss: This is really, really unique. This game lasts a whole week, not just a day. This game sends you and your spouse on a secret mission to out-do each other with sweetness. I LOVE the idea of this game. I actually haven’t played it yet but I really want to.
A Few More Fun Games for Couple Game Night
Split Decision: This game is our most recent find and it’s so much fun! You are given a choice between topics and pick which is correct. It sounds simple, but it really gets you thinking. This is great for trivia lovers.
Cover Your Assets: You literally Cover Your Assets so others can’t steal them from you. This game is fast-paced, competitive, and a little addictive.
Blokus: Stake your claim and protect your territory by fitting as many of your pieces on the board as possible while strategically blocking your opponents! This is a fun casual board game for couples to play on a nice relaxing evening at home!
Scrabble: It’s a classic for a reason. Scrabble is smart, strategic, competitive and gives you a chance to argue playfully about whether ‘Za is a word (hint: it is).
Talk, Flirt, Dare: I love this spicy game, it is the perfect fun and flirty game to play with the one you love!
